Belt and Road Tsingtao Beer Festival will be held in 15 countries between December 2019 and October 2020 to promote trade, sports, tourism, culture and friendship among peoples of the world.
The Tsingtao Beer Festival kicked off in Liberia with a 5-km mini-marathon in the capital city, Monrovia, on Dec21, 2019.
During the festival, participants not only tasted Tsingtao beer, but also enjoyed many cultural, art activities. It also featured a football match between Weah All-Stars, a football team headed by the Liberian president and former world player of the year, George Weah, and the Tsingtao All-Stars team.
Tsingtao beer entered the west African market about a decade ago, providing opportunities, including jobs for young people.
Established in 1903, Tsingtao is currently among the top six beer brands in the world. It is also one of the top imported beer brands in Liberia.
The Belt and Road Initiative is a global strategy adopted by the Chinese government, involving infrastructural development and investment in 152 countries and international organizations in Asia, Africa, Europe the Middle East and the Americas.
Lance Gbayongon, Liberia's Deputy Minister of Information,Culture and Tourism "This is not just a mere program to drink beer, we feel this program will help to enhance social cohesion, help to promote peace, reconciliation and national unity".
Following Liberia, Qingdao Beer Festival opened in Punta del Este of Uruguay on January 10.

啤酒節于2019年12月21日至22日在利比里亞舉辦首站活動。一場長達5公里的迷你馬拉松比賽為啤酒節拉開了序幕。
這是利比里亞全國首次舉辦啤酒節。除消費者暢飲互動、品牌展示等環節,啤酒節還設置迷你馬拉松、足球友誼賽等體育活動以及許多文化藝術活動。
青島啤酒成立于1903年,目前是世界六大啤酒品牌之一。大約十年前,青島啤酒進入了西非市場,它也是利比里亞領先的進口啤酒品牌之一。
“一帶一路”是中國政府采取的一項全球發展戰略,涉及非洲、亞洲、歐洲、中東和美洲152個國家和國際組織的基礎設施建設和投資。
“舉辦啤酒節不僅僅是為了讓人們喝啤酒,而且將有助于增強社會凝聚力,有助于促進和平、和解與民族團結。”利比里亞新聞、文化和旅游部副部長蘭斯?格巴永岡說。
1月10日,青島啤酒節第二站進入烏拉圭,在南美洲著名的海濱勝地埃斯特角城舉辦。
